Nightingale, 2023 video art, 6min 53sec

Nightingale expresses the melancholia and the nostalgia of my mother, when the huge and old tree of the back side of our house was cut. She said that when that happened, the nightingale disappeared. It was singing every morning she was opening the window to listen to it, to start the day with this peaceful sound. I replicate these feelings through images that trying to meet again the nightingale. From the light to darkness, from playfulness to stillness. The nightingale is a metaphor that is derived from collective subconsciousness, the tendency of focusing and living in melancholia and nostalgia.
