Into abysmal depths
Installation piece, part of I am this body, this rapture exhibition hosted by ASTRO in collaboration with Maddi Fuente Ubani.
Location: Refo Moabit, Berlin (DE)
Into abysmal depths is influenced by the concept of synchronicity: the occurrence of meaningful coincidences that seem to have no cause; that is, the coincidences are acausal. The underlying idea is that there is unity in diversity and she is attempting to uncover the close connection between the archetypal vision of the unconscious and the physical event through the time.
I examine the concept of synchronicity (Jung analysis) and how it affects human psychology and mental life. It creates a journey that connects the unconscious with the conscious. Its approach aims to connect and mix events of the past, the present and the future which do not cause one another, but their combination brings a deeper meaning (sychronistic experiences). A synchronistic experience can uncover deeper parts of the self (hidden memories, traumas) and archetype patterns through the collective unconscious, attempting the process of self integration.
The installation acts as the bridge that creates different paths of spatio-temporal connections and experiences, which depend on personal experiences, cultural elements and social influences.
Used materials: Found objects, chemigrams (reactions on old aged photographic paper, made with peanut butter, honey, sunscreen, olive oil, omega 3 oil, hand cream, toothpaste, cinnamon, polish nail, developer and fixer)
